This newly rejuvenated, innovative firm is reaping huge benefits since its take over last year by Jay Sahota. The firm is growing rapidly not just in size, but in strength, with a team of dynamic and highly experienced lawyers across a wide range of areas, and encompassing clients right around the globe. Not to mention the recent launch of our London office in Chancery Lane.
One of the most interesting new niche areas for the firm is Surrogacy Law. Something in which family lawyer, Susan Anderson, has long held an interest.
Susan says, “It really is a fascinating area. To be involved in the steps leading to a, usually, very joyful outcome, is highly rewarding for all concerned. I also see it as an opportunity to promoting and progressing changes in Surrogacy Law in the UK, which is just way out of line with modern aspects of family life and, I feel, is biased. I have to say that some aspects were challenging for me to accept a few years ago; but we all have to accept that surrogacy not only helps couples with fertility issues, but also enables LGBGT couples and single persons the opportunity to have a longed for family. In the interests of the children concerned, we should be seeking to ease the journey to being a parent; and to make it as swift as possible. It is so exciting to bring this to Jarmans as another cog in the giant wheel of our progress”.
