Powers of Attorney
Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA)
A Lasting Power of Attorney is an effective way to appoint someone else to look after a person's affairs if they become unable to do so themselves. Whilst more lengthy than its predecessor - the Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) - a Lasting Power of Attorney is the best way of ensuring that your affairs are looked after by someone you choose and trust..
A fact sheet is available if you would like to telephone, email or call in at our offices.
Court of Protection
For those who have no Lasting Power of Attorney or Enduring Power of Attorney in place, and who become mentally incapable of managing their financial affairs, an application to the Court of Protection is often the only way to gain access to funds - to pay for required care, for example.
Should you have a relative who has not made a Lasting Power of Attorney or Enduring Power of Attorney and who needs assistance, Jarmans can arrange an application to the Court and guide you through the Court procedure.
