Maidstone Radio; putting community first

January 26, 2021

The last twelve months have been undeniably hard for businesses, forced closures, restricted operations, and sudden lockdown announcements have made small business ownership feel bleak at times, so it’s great to be able to share a little positive news.

For the last month Jarmans Solicitors have been advertising on Maidstone Radio. Nothing particularly special about that you may be thinking, lots of businesses use radio adverts as a marketing tool. What is amazing though is that Maidstone Radio haven’t charged for any of the ads they’ve broadcast. In fact, they haven’t charged any of the businesses who advertise with them. Instead, they have been providing airtime for local companies twice a day during their breakfast and drivetime shows and once per hour for the rest of the day completely free.

This phenomenal gesture appears even more generous when you consider that Maidstone Radio is funded entirely through advertising revenue and donations, all of their staff are volunteers, and the station operates as a not-for-profit. Thankfully, despite closing the station’s doors, technology has enabled their DJs to keep broadcasting from home.

If you would like to advertise your business on Maidstone Radio, would like to offer them a donation, or would like to volunteer to help them keep their station running, contact them on their website. In the meantime, tune in online, through your smart speaker, or through their app to listen out for Jarmans’ adverts.
